Yelena Slobodnik, RN, BSN, CMC
Director of Nursing
Yelena was born in Communist Russia, where she was told her career would be in HVAC, even though her heart was in health care. She and her husband came to America, where she had the opportunity to follow her dream, becoming first a caregiver, then a CNA, then an LPN, then an RN, and finally a BSN with a degree in nursing from North Park University in 1998. She brings an unparalleled level of passion to her work, and has the unique life experience, from having performed every aspect of senior care, to fully understand and support our caregiving team.
Yelena has participated in clinical research at Northwestern University, as well as worked in both long-term care facilities and home care agencies. Additionally, she served eight years as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserves. She joined the Partners in Senior Care team in 2005 and is a certified Care Manager.
Yelena is a soft spoken, caring nurse, who knows how to work “within the medical system.” She can manage a client’s medical care with the expertise needed in today’s fast paced delivery system. She is able to intervene to help seniors and their families understand what is happening and what is needed for a successful outcome. Her goal is to help seniors access the services and assistance they need to remain independent. Yelena is also a qualified nursing assistant instructor and assists in the orientation and training of all of our caregivers.
